Items that do not go in with your household trash that are accepted at your Maricopa drop-off facility for regular recycling collection:
- Appliances
- Electronics
- Batteries
- Light bulbs
- Tires
- Water-based paint
Items that do NOT go in your household trash OR recycling and need to properly handled/discarded at a HHW Facility or Event:
- Any Liquid Waste
- Oil-based Paint
- Household cleaners
- Automobile cleaners & fluids, craft, hobby and home repair (glue, paint, stains)
- Pesticides, Herbicides, Pool chemicals
- Ammunition or explosive
Prescription drugs, human waste/fluids, medical sharps
If it's toxic and I cannot recycle it or put it in the trash, what do I do with it?

- Store HHW items in a cool place out of reach for children & pets.
- Use all of contents & follow label instructions for storage/discard.
- Share instead of dumping; join freecycle.org to find others who could use your "still useable" goods.
